Al-Marsad and Hemayah Human Rights Organizations demand release of human rights activist Sadiq Al-Sharafi
-Yemen.


An important figure at a human rights organization protested that the human rights activist Sadiq Al-Sharafi is still in the prison since 14th of July when the security authority took him to the jail of the National Security before taking him to the Political jail.

" Al-Sharafi's family members and relatives did not feel any progress in his case except changing his prison from the National to the Political" said Abdulmutaleb Al-Shami- the responsible figure for the legal affairs at Hemayah for Human Rights Organization.

Al-Shami told "Al-Eshteraki Net" on Tuesday that there is no way to stick any crime to Al-Sharafi. " His crime might be his dependence for human rights and practicing the advantage of free opinion especially in the north and Saad'a issues" said Al-Shami.

Referring to his health case, Al-Shami demanded the release of Al-Sharafi and described it to be critical. He also demanded the NGOs to interact with the issue as it will help his quick release.

"We oppose all the illegal procedures which Al-Sharafi faced beginning with the way he got prisoned and ending with the prisioning procedures which are unreasonable" said Wadhah Al-Maqtari, the spokesman at Al-Marsad for Human Rights. He also claimed that Al-Sharafi should be released as soon as possible.

Human rights activists might be picked up to jail with out any reason too:" What happened to Al-Sharafi is meant to be for all the human rights activists in Yemen" said Al-Maqtari.

Al-Sharafi was taken to jail just five days before his wedding party when a security force got into his newly rent flat suddenly and went together to Hemayah location. Then, they took his computer and took some of his relatives to jail who were released after questioning.
